October 04 Why can't human breath as fishes do?Because my endless curiosity, we(our house) decide to make every Tuesday as a Question Day. You can challenge any question to anybody, and any question should be answered.
It started from my question ” Why were you shaking head when the professor was explaining sovereignty using Kosovo as an example?" He came from Serbia. God, I never could imagine I would have someone come from Belgrade as classmate as well as roomate. We have to see each other 16hours a day.. No reason not to seize the precious chance, isn't it?! He hesitated for a second and began to explain his views, which led to a passionate discussion especially after the American girl's joining.
Last evening, with beers, again, we tried to dig the conversation between our the Serbian guy and our classmate, a Albanian girl from Kosovo held earlier that day. It inevitably leads to topics like freedom, democracy, globalization and identity. Finally, we decided not talking about these "never existed ideal concept" and some one suggested "Let's talk about LOVE". Just like the disputes we had in the previous debates, we again divided into realistic perspective as” Love hurts"romantic perspective as"Love is sweet",and skeptical "Love does not exist". Topic soon move on the sex evoked by a girl claiming that she would not mind if her boyfriend cheated her on another guy.” Because he has what i do not have." This liberal saying seems offended the guys and after servel round of questioning and clarifying, the guy suggested us talking about love shouted, pls, let's go back to talk about globalization!
Just now, while easting lunch while at the same time reading for writing the assignment, I read the definition of democracy out. The Serbian who is eating in front of me imposed his great doubt that no modern country has ever reach the democracy ,which again led our conversation towards a diplomatic debate. Trying to creat anther atmosphere, I raised another question, can you tell me how to breath when you are swimming. However, his detailed demonstration just stimulated my another question:” Then, why can't human just breath in the water, like fishes do?"
His answer seems useful: Because, fishes can not breath outside the water. See, that is freedom.
